O’Shea Duo Tackle 2012 Breeders Classic

February 17th, 2012

Steps In Time will  line up for the Breeders Classic at Warwick Farm racecourse  tomorrow February 18, 2012.

The four-year-old mare will be second-up in the race after winning her first start at Canterbury on January 28.

Trainer John O’Shea has also entered Alberton Park in the race, who won the Australian Turf Club Handicap last start.

“They are coming in to the race off confidence-boosting wins and that is always a positive sign with mares,” he said.

“Steps In Time had good improvement up her sleeve first-up and Alberton Park impressed me.

“If you had just looked at her trials and how she had been working at home you wouldn’t be surprised with how she won.

“Her form in Queensland was OK but it wasn’t flash, I think she is thriving in the new environment.”

Beaded who is currently favourite to win the race at Luxbet, will be first-up in the 2012 Breeders Classic for the first time since the Tattersall’s Tiara last June.

“We had a few little issues with her in the spring that forced us to abandon her campaign so she has had a good break and been back in work for close to three and a half months,” trainer Peter  Snowden said.
