2011 Breeders Classic – Final Field

February 9th, 2011

The 2011 Breeders Classic is set to be run at Randwick this Saturday February 12, 2011, and has once again attracted some of the big names in racing.

Final fields were announced this morning, revealing superstar mare More Joyous will contest the title, providing a thrilling race for both horse racing enthusiasts and punters alike.

With such an exciting race on offer, why not bet on your favourite sprinter at Luxbet when odds are released later in the week.

More Joyous has been allocated 57.5 kilograms, the heaviest in the field, but has caught a lucky break by drawing barrier one.

Gai Waterhouse, who trains More Joyous, believes that More Joyous will win the 2011 Breeders Classic, and any other races she takes on this prep.

“I think she will go through her preparation unbeaten,” Ms Waterhouse said.

Unfortuately, Gerald Ryan chose not to run Melito in the 2011 Breeders Classic, feeling that she was not quite fit enough.

Gerald Ryan will now invest his hopes in Melito’s stablemate Strawberry Field who has accepted for the race.

“It’s a good field but she’s a good mare,” Ryan said when asked how he felt Strawberry Field would fare.

Other acceptances include Les Bridge’s Jersey Lily, David Pfieffer’s Graceful Anna and Joseph Pride’s Sacred Choice.
