Grabbing headlines coming into the race is Darren Smith’s Madame Pedrille. The five-year-old will start out-wide taking the ninth barrier, however winning the Group 2 Sheraco Stakes and strolling to a win in an 800 metre exhibition at Randwick in January, the mare will surely start her Group racing campaign for 2010 as a favourite.
Taking the favourite inside barrier is Logan’s Choice, and the Barbara Joseph-trained four-year-old will hope the 2010 Breeders Classic will bring her first Group race win for 2010.
After an impressive streak in Brisbane, Alverta takes the outside barrier, and the Paul Messara-trained mare will hope it will not affect her final positioning. Looking to race the six-year-old in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) on the 17th of April, the 2010 Breeders Classic will be a good start to Alverta’s Sydney campaign.
